This Giving Tuesday, Honor Love, Honor Loss, and Honor Bereaved Parents with No Surviving Children Finding Their Way Forward
For most, parenthood is a story filled with milestones—first steps, first birthdays, first days of school, weddings, grandchildren. But for bereaved parents with no surviving children, the story is interrupted by a loss or losses that changes everything. For us the world comes to a standstill, and everything becomes quieter, heavier, and infinitely more complicated. Are we still a mother or a father? What could I have done to prevent this? What purpose in life do I have now?
Alive Alone offers peer support, and connection with other parents who have suffered the death of an only child, or of all their children, and a reminder that although grief may reshape life forever, no one should have to face it alone.
Why Giving Tuesday Matters
Giving Tuesday is more than a Global Day of Generosity, it’s a chance to show families in deep grief that their children are remembered, their pain is seen, and their journey matters.
Your support directly helps us provide:
- Peer groups where a parent can speak their child’s or children’s name, tell their story, and share memories with others who know the depth of their pain
- Online and in-person workshops and grief resources
- Memorial events and remembrance opportunities that honor the lives of precious children gone too soon
Every Gift Tells a Family: “You’re Not Alone.”
Any amount makes a meaningful difference
A Day of Giving, A Lifetime of Impact
Grief doesn’t follow a calendar. It doesn’t shrink between holidays. For many parents, it often intensifies.
But so can love.
So can community.
So can hope.
This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to help us continue offering a lifeline to families learning how to live with unimaginable loss. Together, we can make sure every parent has a safe place to grieve, remember, and begin to heal.
